A fresh start: from the Ore Mountains to Vermont

Why this blog exists – and what you can expect here over the coming months.

Since fall 2025 I’ve been a student-athlete at the University of Vermont. For ten years Oberwiesenthal was my home base as an athlete – now I’m training on the other side of the Atlantic, studying alongside it, and learning something new every day: about training, about myself, and about how to make the two fit together.

Why this blog?

On Instagram you mostly see the good moments. Here I want to tell more of the story – including the days when training doesn’t click, when classes pile up, or when I’m not sure I’m on the right path. I’m not where I want to be yet. That’s exactly the point.

What’s coming

  • Training: what a week really looks like, what works and what doesn’t
  • Racing: race reports, results and what I take away from them
  • Studies & daily life: life as a student-athlete in the US
  • Later on: conversations with other athletes and coaches

If you have a question or a topic you’d like me to write about – just send me a message.
